Biserujka Cave on Krk: Tickets, Opening Months and What to Expect
Updated October 25, 2026 · 5 min read
Biserujka is worth visiting when you want a compact break from Krk’s beaches, not a long underground expedition. The cave near Rudine is about 110 metres long, with a prepared visitor route through chambers of stalactites, stalagmites and calcite columns.
Published tickets and seasonal hours
The operator publishes admission of €7 for adults, €5 for children aged 3–12 and free entry for children under 3. Published hours are 10 am–3 pm in April and October, 9 am–5 pm in May and June, 9 am–6 pm in July and August, and 10 am–5 pm in September.
Treat those as reference information, not a live guarantee. Confirm the date, final admission, payment options and any closure with the operator before travelling, especially outside the main season or with a group.
What the visit feels like
This is a small show cave. Its appeal lies in seeing limestone formations at close range rather than walking for kilometres. The temperature is roughly 10–15°C depending on where and how it is measured, a sharp contrast with a hot afternoon above ground. Take a light layer even in summer.
Wear shoes with grip. The route has steps, uneven and sometimes damp surfaces, and confined sections. Do not assume it works with a pushchair or wheelchair; ask the operator about current access if mobility is a concern. Children need close supervision and should stay on the path without touching formations.
How much time to allow
The underground portion is short, but rushing there for a ten-minute photo stop misses the point. Allow time to park, wait for admission and look carefully inside. The surrounding Rudine and Slivanjska Bay landscape can turn it into a half-day outing, but exposed paths require water and sun protection in warm weather.
Biserujka is particularly useful on a mixed-weather day: rain may make the floor wetter, while extreme heat makes the cooler interior welcome. In prolonged bad weather, confirm that the cave is operating before setting out.
Who may prefer something else
Skip it if steps or enclosed spaces are likely to make the visit uncomfortable. Travellers expecting a vast cavern system may also find it too brief. For a child who mainly wants to see marine life, Krk Town’s semi-submarine or an aquarium may be the clearer choice.
Our recommendation
Visit Biserujka as one carefully planned stop in northeastern Krk, not as the sole purpose of a full day. There is no matching cave activity in the current booking selection, so compare things to do on Krk for a second stop rather than booking an unrelated tour.
